Workshops

Who?
Singles and couples are welcome at all Count on Dancing workshops. Partner rotation is encouraged and we do our utmost to maintain a well-balanced proportion of leaders and followers during the registration procedure.

What?
Dave and Linda host and teach several one-day workshops during the year. Their regular “Just A Taste” Workshop in the spring and “Rust Remover” Workshop in the fall are just two of their popular events.

Workshops are another way that Count on Dancing brings the dance community together to share in the expertise of other professional instructors from different locations in North America. Visiting instructors provide a weekend of fun, comraderie and challenging dance concepts. These weekend workshops regularly sell-out with participants coming from locations like Montreal, Toronto, Peterborough, and the United States.

When?
The annual “Rust Remover” workshop is scheduled for Saturday, Sept 20,2008. Keep an eye on the website for details and more workshop dates.

Where?
Most of Count on Dancing’s workshops are held at the Churchill Club, 345 Richmond Rd., Ottawa. This facility boasts the best sprung hardwood dance hall in the city. The location is also situated in a picturesque and fashionable area of town bursting with clothing boutiques, jewellery, sport shops, speciality stores of all kinds, restaurants and coffee shops.

Why?
Workshops give you the opportunity to zone in on a particular dance style, new techniques and patterns and often consist of speciality classes like Body Movement, Syncopations or Fancy Footwork.

Guest instructors offer other views on dance styles and techniques while quenching our thirst for additional dance knowledge
.

How much?
Prices vary according to the instructor(s) we have teaching so it is necessary that you refer to individual workshops for all the inside information. One thing is for certain; you have the choice of registering for the number of classes you feel confident in attending. Count on Dancing offers Complete Workshop Packages, Single Classes, Dance-Only Admission, and Private Lessons with the pros.

What else?
Weekend workshops generally include Friday night classes, practice dance and private lesson opportunities. Saturday is a full day of workshop classes followed by a dinner break, dance, entertainment and quite often the chance to participate in a fun dance competition.
Count on Dancing invites vendors retailing dance-related products for your convenience.
