Group Lessons

Group lessons are an ideal way to try out a new dance style at a reasonably low cost, in a social setting. Meet other learners, be exposed to couples' dancing and experience our "Fun First" style of teaching. Dave and Linda now teach in four locations around Ottawa!

Learn to Swing Dance Program
With the presence of TV shows like So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing with the Stars, dancing has never been more popular. Jump in and hold on for a wild ride as you learn some of the more popular dances being offered by Dave and Linda Corke (Count on Dancing)!

Classic West Coast Swing (Basics – Part 1)
This is where it all begins!  A sophisticated cousin of the Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing is perhaps the most musically versatile of all couples dances.  It’s danced to pop, blues, disco, hip hop, rap, jazz, R & B, country, some Latin, and even Swing music.  WCS is a rare couples’ dance that encourages creativity and improvisation in near-equal measure from both partners.  WCS is the rapidly evolving dance that oozes style.  We’ll be laying the foundation for Classic West Coast Swing, 6 weeks of the fundamentals followed by week 7 – Practice Dance Night. Dave & Linda Corke (Count on Dancing)

Classic West Coast Swing (Basics – Part 2)
Build a better base and continue to learn more of the fundamentals while reinforcing the Foundation Patterns of Basics – Part 1. Finish the session with a week 7 - Practice Your Dance Night. Dave & Linda Corke (Count on Dancing)

Melange & Intro. to East Coast Swing         New

Learn TWO Fun & Easy swing dances during this 7 week program. Melange, will have you dancing to music the first night, and provides the necessary skills to graduate to East Coast Swing!  Both dances are lively and come complete with fun patterns that can be built upon for more challenging routines. Enjoy the energetic swing and rock 'n roll music while we help you learn these two widely popular dances. Finish the session with a Practice Night Dance on week 7.  Dave & Linda Corke (Count on Dancing)

Hustle Basics    New
If you missed the disco era, now’s your chance to learn the dance that made the 70's famous a la Saturday Night Fever. While Hustle is not a swing dance it is well suited for dancing the “dance mix” selections of the present as well as all those party oldies like Donna Summer and the Bee Gees music.  We teach L.A. Style Hustle, which is a perfect compliment to West Coast Swing. Six week session followed by a bonus week 7 – Practice Dance Night. Dave & Linda Corke (Count on Dancing)
